Apixaban SPC is used for:
The
prevention of stroke and systemic embolism in adult patients with non-valvular
atrial fibrillation (AFib),
a type of irregular heartbeat, not caused by a heart valve problem.
The treatment and prevention of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) and pulmonary embolism (PE) in adult patients. Those are types of blood clots that can occur in the veins of the legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism).
